When it comes to fishing, I love to explore new rivers, lakes, streams or smaller ponds to fish for all kinds of fish. This includes traveling to all the different countries around the globe and get to know many guys who think the same as I do. And at least from my experience, flyfishers always want to help other flyguys, especially when they are in a different type of water than their home stretch.

I don´t know exactly when, but it must have been sometime around christmas when Lukas R. came up with the idea...what about a trip to Rügen, he asked. Sounds great, but when? When the answer was end of February, several thoughts were crossing my mind. First one: it´ll be cold. Second one: it´ll be really cold. Third one: it´ll be windy. Forth one: there could be a slight chance of catching the biggest pike of my life. The last one convinced me. I´m a man of simple needs - if there was a...

Fishing small streams is simply an awesome experience. Usually you have to wade carefully to not spook any fish, and casting can be pretty tricky since bushes and trees usually try their best to put a branch or two into your line path. Trick casting is essential here, and without a solid roll cast you probably won´t have a lot of fun. Although the fish do not grow as big in small water than they would in bigger rivers you still can stumble upon a nice hog here and there, but usually you are...

Just wanted to share some pics of one of the most beautiful places I´ve ever been to, the Cevennes in France. Great people, fantastic landscape, stunning waters and tricky fishing - what more can you wish for? ;)

A brown trout, caught while fly fishing a secret river in Norway. Danica Dudes Fliegenfischen, Angeln
The next stop of our trip was the river -censored- near Alvdal. And boy, that river was nice! It seemed to change every 200 m or so, from fast wild water to slow, deep pools. The water was absolutley clear which provided some fantastic sight fishing opportunities. The fishing was very different to what we were used from Rena. Finding fish that were steady rising was very hard since we had hardly any good hatches, due to the sunny weather throughout the whole week Nevertheless we managed it to...

The Rena river in Hedmark, Norway. Flyfishing with the Danica Dudes. Angeln und Fliegenfischen an der Rena in Norwegen.
For those who are familiar with the Hedmark region in Norway, there’s nothing more to say about the Rena River than the name itself, just because it is absolutely amazing! Okay, the river itself might not look very spectacular and its location between two barrier lakes might also not be very romantic but what counts is that it has the biggest number of (different) insects in Europe! And that truly makes it to an Eldorado for any dry-or-die flyfisherman and -woman and of course any Danica...

Our first camp in Sweden, flyfishing trip Danica Dudes | Angeln, Fliegenfischen in Schweden auf dem Weg nach Norwegen
Do you know the feeling when you´re getting off a ferry, have a pretty long drive in front of you and a night with hardly any sleep behind you? Well, when we first put our foot on swedish ground we just thought “Shiiit, we need some seriously dose of sleep!“. But nada, Norway was still few hundred kilometres away which cannot be couvered when chillin´at the beach. So four Bavarians made their way up north , along the western swedish coastline. After a couple of hours driving we decided to...

The Weisser Regen in Bavaria, Germany. Flyfishing, angeln, danica dudes, fliegenfischen
Hakuna Matata! That´s what me and my dad thought when we both got off at work and decided to visit another stream in Eastern Bavaria: I had the best dry fly fishing of this year´s season.

The "Schwarzer Regen" in Bavaria, Germany. Ideal for fly fishing with a flyrod | Angeln in Bayern am Schwarzen Regen.
Warm weather, a little cloudy, hardly any wind. The forecast sounded perfect, so two fellows and I decided to fish one of the rivers in the nationalpark „Bayerischer Wald“ in eastern Bavaria, near the border to the Czech Republic. To me, it was the first time at this beautiful stretch of water, and boy was I excited! As soon as we arrived at the river, I took a quick look before rigging up: few fish were sporadically rising and some pale morning duns were hatching. Since only dryflies and...
